Welcome to the fourth Saturday Challenge - join, or don't that's up to you - but I challenge you to do it...
Here's how it works, the Challenge is posted on Friday (or Saturday) and then you have a week to submit your link.. it's not called the Saturday Challenge because that's when you "have to do it", that's simply when it's put out there for you to being - by all means, don't let the fact that it's Tuesday prevent you from feeling good about helping people!

Today I Challenge You To...
1. Say something nice about 2 different people that you've met through blogging, shop ownership, etc..
2. Do something nice for a complete stranger, doesn't have to be big or expensive.
3. Say something good about yourself.
4. Say something good about someone in your family/immediate circle that you feel you don't say about them enough, if ever.
5. Treat yourself to something - a bubble bath, a coffee without distractions, something - just take time out for you.
6. What was the highlight of your week, share it with us!

Challenge Accepted!

Kara, at The Snuggly Ducking, is just the cutest girl. Plus she and I both lived in Baton Rouge while I was there, but we never met - total bummer, btw. Anyway, she is just so nice and spunky! Any time she posts something on Twitter or her blog its usually up-beat and positive, which is just so great! You should go check her out.

Leigh-Ellen, Little Water Lily Big Pond. This woman has been amazing to me since day one. I don't remember how we "met" I feel it was through a give away or ad swap or something - but I am so happy we did. Since then it's been a constant back and forth of sponsor ship, support and give-aways. She is a great lady, who lives way up north in Canada... so if you're ever "oot and aboot" looking for a new blog friend, hit her up!

Today when I go to Starbucks to study - I will buy the drink for the person behind me - which will be odd, since I will be in the line with them as opposed to just the drive-through, fun!
3. Say something good about yourself.
ooo, 4 weeks this is getting tough. Okay, simple one - I have a great smile. I love it. It makes me happy that people see my smile and smile back, also that's nice because I love to smile and I love to see other's smile.
--This is more effective in Reno or the South than in a big city like New York, they don't appreciate my smiles there, because it's the "land of no eye contact with strangers" - don't believe me? Make eye contact with and smile at a complete stranger on the 4 train and see what happens...

So my little brother, we give him a hard time because he struggles, in pretty much everything... but I know that if he applies himself, he can pull through, finish up his degree and get on with his life - fingers crossed. He can do it, he can... he just doesn't think so.
5. Treat yourself to something - a bubble bath, a coffee without distractions, something - just take time out for you.
This blog time is totally how I am spoiling myself! I get to help people do something nice and fun, I get to post... and I'm organizing my blog craft swap - so fun! Also... definitely going to get a bag today from Sand-And-Starfish - so that's a treat! Then back to studying...
6. What was the highlight of your week, share it with us!
I started school (again) this week! If you don't know... I have a master's in anthropology, didn't want a PhD, so am now "pre-nursing"... so I have 1 year of pre-requisite classes before I apply to nursing school... and I am pretty excited about the prospects that are out there...

See you next week!
Awww... thanks hon. You know I will do this but I spent all day on campus for new student move in at residence and my brain is fried. I'm also not sure I'll ever be able to hear again. I'm so old.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to taking the challenge this week! Not quite sure when (will need to look at my post planner first) but it sounds like fun!!
