Calling all Handmade Peeps

If you make any of the following, I'd love to feature you and your shop!  Scroll down for more information!

** This list is not exclusive!  If you think of a category I forgot (ie: design)... I can add it!

If you have a shop/small business I'd love to have you.

If you'd be interested in doing a "guest post" on the blog where you introduce yourself and your shop let me know, I'd love to turn the blog website that I have into a sort of "meet the shop people" type site. Where people can come visit, see that we are real live people working till our fingers bleed.

What I'd need from you:
*  A photo of you
*  A few of your product
*  A photo of your work space - whether it's an amazing downtown studio, or your closet - it's where you make the magic happen
*  A post including: who you are, how you go into your business, what you make, etc.
*  Links to all of your social media and your shop.
** If you'd like to be included in the occasional give-away I'd love to have you
** Also if you'd like to include a coupon code or promotion for the promotion page, I'd love that!
Email me at: artsyanthropology @ gmail -- if you want to be featured. I will not write the post for you (but would be willing to edit photos you send), that is your job

A Change in Heart...

If you haven't noticed... this whole "blogging" thing, isn't really my thing... since I haven't since May.  Really I started it as a way to promote my shop ... and only kept doing it to create traffic - and that's not what I am passionate about.  I am passionate about creating things that I can share with all of you!

That being said - I am not shutting down the blog, but rather it's going to become a way to share with you what I am passionate about.  I want to make this a space to highlight all of the amazing handmade shops that are out there.

Initially all the shop features will be categorized by product... and eventually I'd like to have them broken down into areas so that you know which shop owners are from your area, be it the Pacific North West, New York, Canada or Yorkshire.

Please feel free to share this with shop owners you might know!  I'd love to have all shops featured, big and small.  There's no charge for this - I just want this to be a place where we can all come and visit and meet some amazingly creative people!

Thank You Universe

Today I say "Thank You Universe" (I say this so as to allow you to put in what ever deity you see fit or not, that's your business and this is mine).

Thank You Universe for blessing me with the amazing support that you have through this amazing endeavor that is Artsy Anthropology.  Honestly, from day one I have had such inspiring support in the women I have met through this business I can't even express into actual words how honored I am to have gotten to be a part of their lives.

Today I have to thank with as much gusto as I can muster Chelsea, Sarah and Leigh-Ellen.  You ladies know how much you and your support mean to me and I cannot ever thank you enough for your kind words, advice, humor and sensibility.

The past few weeks have been mind-blowing stressful.  With the entire "nursing school application process" I am finding that being an individual does not matter, being unique does not matter - what matters is fitting into this exact mold of perfect grades, perfect student, and it's ridiculous.  I have a Master's of Arts in a field that I am passionate about, but decided that because jobs are scarce I would not pursue a PhD and be in this same position in a few years... but now I wonder if that was the right decision?  Don't get me wrong, I am passionate about nursing, I love people, I love helping people and I know it's a field I can make a great impact in - and this is not giving up on a dream, rather alternating my course to continue on with my original dream, my original goal.  In my graduate admission essay I wrote that my only goal was to help those that could not help themselves, be they victims of a crime, a child with an ear infection, or a post-surgery patient who can't get up alone- they need help, and that is enough for me.

I have been pouring my heart and soul into the new line of purses and wristlets that take me hours of planning, only to be told by three different shows that I was not "a good fit"... my guess is because I didn't screen print the fabric and tan the leather myself - but that's a whole different issue in the whole - Handmade vs. ludicrously different debate...

So Thank You Universe for allowing me the passion to continue to pursue the things that I want... for bringing amazing women into my life when I needed them, and for giving me the tools I need to be there for others when they need me, as I am sure each person I know will at some point.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday Lovelies!

I  just wanted to stop in - say hello, and not bombard y'all with shop photos... that's right - this is a non-shop photo blog post!?  WHAT?!

That's why it's so short... because all I've been doing other than working is shop stuff... and school - I am working on nursing school applications (which is harder than getting into Grad school - it's a tad bit ridiculous)... I'm also working on my Real Estate license (since that's mom's gig and we can work together, yikes) just in case I don't get into nursing right away and need a job that pays a bit more than waiting tables... since, let's face it - I'll be 26 in November... and CAN NOT be living with my dad - it's Harshing My Mellow - jk, I have no mellow, no life... just work, school and the shop!

Oh... The shop... GUESS WHAT?!  Officially a Business folks!  That's right, Artsy Anthropology has paid a bunch of money to pay taxes - isn't it awesome how that works?  But I get some nifty pieces of paper that talk about how I am a business and can now pay taxes to the IRS with my new tax ID. Good Times!

So. That's my life in a nut-shell at the moment.  Also... battling with the whole "Etsy vs. Storenvy" debate - since sales have decreased in the switch to Storenvy... I am currently now listing at both to see the difference when both are up and running.

Okay? I think that's it.  Tell me about how your life has been lately!

Shop Sneak Peeks...

Hello Lovelies!  I have definitely been MIA in the blogging world lately - which is okay, since my first priority is always the shop and bringing fun pretty things to life... but that doesn't mean I don't love the blog!  I have a few fun posts planned (by that I mean swimming around in my head) - so that's exciting.

In other news - I have been crazy busy working on a few custom orders, some new shop things... and some new Whitney Bags to get up soon!

Who wants a sneak peek into the studio?!  Here's what's happening in my world!  Happy Thursday!

That moment, when you get butterflies all day...

A few weeks ago I sent off my first wholesale order to an amazingly adorable online boutique called gracie b.  The entire process was exciting, exhilaration  nerve wracking and awesome and Grace was a pleasure to work with.  After several weeks of me being incredibly busy I was finally able to get to work... and we came up with a design that is uniquely Artsy Anthropology - yet exclusively gracie b.  Finally I got the clutches finished and mailed - which I thought was the most exciting part - mailing them off to go to their new home.

I thought after I sent everything off the new clutches would go up in the store without much fuss... but no, that's not what happened... my little clutches *designed exclusively for gracie b* are on the front page of the shop along with the new spring line and have awesome photos and descriptions - BLOWN AWAY.

That being said - please go check out gracie b and see all of the adorable things that she has to buy!  It's a pretty awesome place, if I do say so myself.
