Yummy Recipe Guest Post from Kelly!!!

Okay - so! I am so excited to be sharing what looks like a very yummy recipe from Kelly over at The Houtz House Party!

Holla all you friends of Paige!!!  Today I'm sharing pretty much my FAVORITE sweet dessert since childhood.

What better way to celebrate the end of summer with a DELICIOUS peanut butter/chocolate/butterscotch DESSERT?

Scotcheroos:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Light Corn Syrup
1 Cup Sugar
5ish Cups Rice Krispy’

1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Butterscotch Chips

What You Do:
Melt peanut butter, light corn syrup and sugar together over low heat until smooth.

Remove from heat.

Add in Rice Krispy’s one cup at a time and stir.

Pour into 9x13 pan coated with either butter or cooking spray.

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in the microwave 20 seconds at a time stirring in between each time until melted.

Pour over rice krispy’s mixture and spread around evenly.  Let cool.  Cut into bars.

Disclaimer:  I only made 1/2 a batch this time.  Not enough ingredients for a full!  BIG BUMMER, however calorie saving it is!

These are SOOOO GOOD!  BEST thing EVER to take to your next gathering!!!

**Who else is going to make these ASAP? I am!

MIA...

Hey all, so I have homework tonight... and tomorrow I am literally on the go (dad's birthday breakfast, work, class) from like 7:30 am until 10:30 pm... somewhere in there I'll take a shower and get food (after the 7:30 breakfast...).... AHHHH

That being said, Happy First Day of School everyone!  In honor of the first day of school (and not blogging tomorrow)... I am doing a major sale in my shop.

Everything is BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!

Yep.
All you have to do is purchase the more expensive item (s) and tell me in a message the item you would like free- just like that!

Happy Shopping - back to homework...

P.S. I highlighted it.... because I love highlighters during school, just sayin...

Saturday Challenge 8/25/2012

Welcome to the Saturday Challenge. Grab the code blow, post the link to your post in the area below and see the great things your fellow bloggers are doing!

Welcome to the third Saturday Challenge - join, or don't that's up to you - but I challenge you to do it...

Today I Challenge You To...
1. Say something nice about 2 different people that you've met through blogging, shop ownership, etc..

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger, doesn't have to be big or expensive.

3. Say something good about yourself.

4. Be thankful for something.

5. What was the highlight of your week, share it with us!

Challenge Accepted!
1. Say something nice about 2 different people that you've met through blogging, shop ownership, etc..Okay - first off, I have to say that I just adore Maddie over at Thriftary, she's amazing! From day one she's been sponsor swapping, offering blog advice and helping me with layout information. Plus, she has chickens, a mad awesome voice, and honestly made me laugh for 11 minutes this morning while I watched her Vlog - go check her out!

Next, much love goes out to Stephanie over at Sand&Starfish, this woman is so great. Since I started blogging she's been there to offer support, laughter and the reliable tweet or two in response to my tweet or Instagram posts. Not only is she sweet and funny, but the lady's got amazing talent, if you haven't seen all of her beautiful bags made using vintage fabric, you should - yes, it's soooo good, I'm telling you to go check out my bag competition.

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger, doesn't have to be big or expensive.
This week, I did/ am doing 3 blog redesigns for free, because there are those of us out there that can't pay the big bones, or just don't want to... that's cool. But I love getting to help other bloggers out, and this is such a fun/big way to do so! (Also, love doing, love it!)

3. Say something good about yourself.
I've got mad skills... no, jk. But really, I love helping people - I will always go out of my way to help people without ever considering it an "in-convince". I just love knowing that I can make someone's day better.

4. Be thankful for something.
I am thankful today that school starts on Monday - because that means I'm still on my way to getting a "career"... and it means that I can hopefully do well and study hard and get into nursing school!

5. What was the highlight of your week, share it with us!

Ohh, for those of you that don't follow me on Twitter {@artsyanthro}... I have finally broken down and purchased the Adobe CS6 Design Suite (I'd been using Photoshop6... old school)... and it's all I've done for the last 24 hours - I literally had dreams about it last night... but I'm loving it... in honor of that, feel free to have this little photo I made (after the one that's floating around Pinterest, sorry I can't give credit to the original original, but this is my original copy - so take it!)

See you next week!

Sponsor Highlight

Today, meet 2 of the lovelies that grace my sponsor side bar - and make sure you check back later tonight when I post tomorrow's Saturday Challenge!

What do you blog about or sell. Why do you blog, what's your shop about, etc.
I blog about everything under the sun. From recipes to outfit posts to more serious posts about life, I'm kind of all over the place.

Your current favorite "fad" of the moment, ie: mint green, cardis with belts, kids with mowhaks, zac efron shirtless....
I am obsessed with stack bracelets. Not those bangles that all look the same, but colorful stacks. I don't have one because I have baby wrists but they look great on other people! If I have to choose one that I've actually worn... lace. I LOVE it.

Favorite TV show and/or movie.
TV show: How I Met Your Mother (currently)  Movie: My Fair Lady, hands down. It always puts me in a good mood! I may listen to the soundtrack at work on a weekly basis.

Last movie you saw in the theaters - what did you think about it?
The Dark Knight Rises. It. was. AWESOME. Except Bane's voice. He sounded like the child of Sean Connery and Darth Vader. Not cute.

What do you blog about or sell. Why do you blog, what's your shop about, etc.
I started my blog to keep our friends and family on the other side of the pond (Husband is British and I lived in England for 4 years) up to date on our lives. It's sort of evolved (devolved??) from there. I'm a sucker for all things pretty, shiny, frilly and girly. Most importantly I'm a wife, a fur-parent and a friend so expect a lot of  personal photos and bragging about the crazy exploits of my golden  retriever- Sadie, our rapidly growing kitten- Spock and the cat who runs our lives-  Trilly.

Your current favorite "fad" of the moment, ie: mint green, cardis with belts, kids with mowhaks, zac efron shirtless....
I love the equestrian trend for Fall fashions.  I've always thought of it as a classic look that could work no matter what was in fashion but there's been some fun developments in it this year.  Oh, on the other end of things (ie not classic or timeless) I'm kind of loving the trends in nails right now, particularly the ombre thing.

Favorite TV show and/or movie.
Couldn't possibly pick a favourite tv show or movie.  It all depends on my mood.  I'm purposely delaying watching the final season of Breaking Bad because I want to watch it back to back to back, but also because I don't want it to end.

Last movie you saw in the theaters - what did you think about it?
Can I wait til I see a different last movie?  I've actually had a pretty mediocre run on movies lately- Expendables 2 (so funny at points, why bother trying to have serious bits?), Total Recall (wasted Colin Farrell's rougish charm), Step Up whichever one is was this time (have realized I'd actually prefer to watch a tv series about the making of the Step Up movies than the actual Step Up movies.  Why isn't there a reality show doing this?

DvD Organization Project

So, I had 2 giant drawers full of DVDs that I've been lugging around through 4 different moves... now that I'm crammed into my dad's guestroom and storage space is limited, I decided it was time to downsize. Great idea!

This is what my DVD's looked like... there were a lot of them! I did a lot of research and decided to go with the Atlantic DVD storage boxes (sold at Target, usually 17.00 on sale at 13.00 each - score) each box of 25 sleeves holds 50 DVDs, so I was easily able to downsize!
(Here's an example of the DVD cases, I bought the boxes of sleeves, not the storage box with sleeves, but this was the only one on the website)

I couldn't bring myself to throw away the cases to all my Harry Potters and Indiana Jones, but other than that, it's all condensed!

Look at all those cases! Ridiculous

Look, they all fit in 1 basket now! (I got my baskets at Michael's for 7.00 each... totally worth it)

And both those baskets fit in this little side table, and now I have 2 more drawers to store my stuff in! I'm pretty excited about it - and if you're planning on downsizing your DVDs, the Atlantic cases are the way to go - because they also hold the DVD art, and can hold 2 movies each!

Saturday Challenge 8/18

Welcome to the Saturday Challenge. Grab the code blow, post the link to your post in the area below and see the great things your fellow bloggers are doing!

Welcome to the second Saturday Challenge - join, or don't that's up to you - but I challenge you to do it...

Today I Challenge You To...
1. Say something nice about 2 different people that you've met through blogging, shop ownership, etc..

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger, doesn't have to be big or expensive.

3. Say something good about yourself.

4. Be thankful for something.

5. Do something that scares you, that you've been putting off or that you normally wouldn't because other people think it's "not like you"...

Challenge Accepted:
1. Say something nice about 2 different people that you've met through blogging, shop ownership, etc..
* I have to give a shout out to Claire at All The Adorables (on Etsy) - I purchased most of my blog icons (media, tabs, post labels, signature) from her a few weeks ago - not only were they awesome, but she noticed one of the graphics looked "off" and redid it and sent it to me - I didn't notice, but she took her time to fix it - amazing lady!
* Also I have to say thank you to KC at Bits & Pieces for all of her support, kind words, amazing twitter conversations and laughs over the past few months - I've never met her, but I know she's an amazing woman who has the ability to make people feel important.

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger, doesn't have to be big or expensive.
I know last week I bought someone coffee, I might do that... but ideally I'd love to give one of my key-chain wallets to the little barista who works at my Starbucks, I don't know her name but I know she's starting college this week, isn't living with her parents and is working hard to pay her rent and decorate her new digs - I know this because she and her mom came to eat at P.F. Chang's before I realized she worked at "my" Starbucks... but she is always so nice and sweet, you'd never know how hard she's working!

3. Say something good about yourself.
I try to be genuine with everyone I meet, I know a lot of people who don't. I just think that people should get to know the real you right away, what they do with it is their decision. I think it's a good quality, because then I'm not "wasting time" on people who only like the person they think I am.

4. Be thankful for something.
Honestly? For tonight I am thankful that I don't have diabetes (yet) because otherwise that chocolate cake I ate after my double shift yesterday just might have killed me!

5. Do something that scares you, that you've been putting off or that you normally wouldn't because other people think it's "not like you"...

** Check back later today to see what I've done!

So, not huge, but I finally cleaned out my car - it only took like a whole hour! Haha, it's now shiny, vacuumed and free of crap!  Also on that note, need to stay away from Starbucks for a while (I type this with one in hand...).

Insta-Friday

life rearranged
So this week I have been an awful blogger - as in, I haven't - at all.. I've been busy with work and thus did not blog... oh well. I'M BACK! Here's this week in Instagrams... and later tonight I'll post the new Saturday Challenge!

New Key-chain wallets, Happy mail, hair accessory pile and new headband design and new blog... These are clearly the shop Instagrams...

This is how I spent 2 hours the other night - downsizing 2 drawers of like 140 movies into this! How exciting (Post on this later this week... it's pretty awesome)

My Challenge Saturday Stranger Kindness, and SHARKWEEK......

The hair... went from long... to too short bangs *will be amazing in a week or so!!!

And yes, that's my shoe (didn't fit right, thank God) and a DVD remote that I need to replace... thank's dogs, so much for letting you sleep inside at night...

Today I Challenge You To...

So. I've decided to start a new link up, the "Saturday Challenge" which will begin every week with "Today I Challenge You To..." or "This Week I Challenge You To..."- the purpose is to get you to do something for someone else, for yourself and for the bloggers you've come to know along your journey.

Lately I've noticed a lot of blog chatter about people who follow blogs just to win free things, and I know we're all guilty of it... but then to unfollow when you don't win - it just seems unfair to the blogger who thought you genuinely wanted them to be a part of your life.  So with that being said - I genuinely want to share with you, and want you to share with those around you.

Welcome to the first Saturday Challenge - join, or don't that's up to you - but I challenge you to do it...

Today I Challenge You To...
1. Say something nice about 2 people that you've met in the blogging world.

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger.

3. Say something good about yourself.

4. Be thankful for something.

5. Live the life you want to live - even if it's for a day.

Challenge Accepted:
1. Say something nice about 2 people that you've met in the blogging world.
Kelly @ The Houtz House Party is amazing - I mean, the woman just started blogging a few months ago and already has like 300+ followers, perhaps it's because she's so caring, involved and genuine in her blogging.
And Kristen @ Confessions of a Graphic Design Student - this post, was inspired by our "conversation"... I feel like I needed to be more involved and I hope that this little bit of support makes you feel amazing about the followers that you have!

2. Do something nice for a complete stranger.
**Buying the coffee of the person behind me in the drive-through is my current plan.

3. Say something good about yourself.
I am fiercely crafty and creative, and I love that about myself.

4. Be thankful for something.
I am thankful for all of the opportunities I have been, and continue to be given and know that there are so many people less fortunate than myself, it's easy to take that for granted.

5. Live the life you want to live - even if it's for a day.
Today is all about the shop - and that's what I am excited about - checking on consignment orders, mailing things, adding new things to the shop - going to Joann's to apply for a teaching position - good day.
